The history of Acerbis is the typical story of an Italian family business in the furniture industry. Founded in 1870 as a carpentry workshop in Albino, for a long time Acerbis’ production remained linked to traditional models of solid wood working. It was during these years that a heritage of experience was built up on which today’s company has developed, bound to the respect for materials and the ability to meet ever-changing living requirements.
In the 1960s, when Lodovico Acerbis joined the company, the aim was to invest the company’s know-how by renewing production and the approach to design, but without betraying the company’s heritage.
The innovations started with the storage units, which have long been the subject of experimentation and innovation, such as the use of precious glossy lacquers and opening mechanisms.
Consolidating the path undertaken by Lodovico Acerbis is the partnership with Giotto Stoppino, from which iconic products such as Sheraton, Compasso d’Oro 1979 and best seller of the collection, were born.
With these projects a clear productive intent is outlined, made of technical research, use of high-quality materials, attention to detail and technologically advanced finishes
The acquired production know-how was the starting point for the development of new storage furniture such as Ludwig, Grand Buffet, Alterego, products that reinterpret storage in a contemporary key.
